Amy Skinner

This collection explores the possibilities of open structures, fluid forms and dimensionality through
consideration of materiality. The resulting combinations creates a collection that encapsulates tactility and
richness using refined materials to create unique, one-off textile pieces.
Inspired by an array of eclectic interior and exterior details, the collection is centred around sophisticated
motifs and structural elements of architectural facades and grids. The body of gathered research prompts a
curiosity for modularity and repetition, in the connecting and intertwining of materials through
manipulation, layering and joining.
This collection composes a varied material palette from leather offcuts to repurposed webbing and metal
finishes, whereby material selection and quality informs colour choice, with beautifully neutral tones and
mixed metal detailing.
Each piece is meticulously yet responsibly created, through sourced and alternative materials, with each
piece composed and hand-finished, resulting in a collection of textile pieces designed for the body.
Additionally, inspired by the same body of research, I have explored installation pieces and finishings for
interiors, decidedly architecturally inspired. Working with laser-cut processes and digital embroidery, these
pieces explore material choice through donated leathers, wooden and acrylic base materials
