Melville
‘Melville’ is a series of work which delves into the intimate and ephemeral nature of memory, particularly when shaped and eroded by epilepsy. Using found materials that bear the imprint of human interaction, I create work that serves as a tactile mummification of fleeting moments. My choice of found material such as cardboard packaging, plastic and takeaway coffee cups challenge the seemingly unimportance of everyday encounters with objects. I believe that these objects possess a silent power in their ability to describe a day that may otherwise be forgotten. By mummifying these materials, I aim to immortalise the invisible threads of human connection.
