I am a photographer and Visual Artist interested in research-based projects and observational photography, working with both digital and analogue processes. I’m inspired by universal experiences and finding beauty in the monotony, my work acts as a diary both retrospective and current.
Martha & Me
Martha & Me is an intimate look into Girlhood and my own relationship with my best friend. I spent the year talking to Martha about our friendship and about growing up together and recreated certain narratives frm diaries and memories, to create ‘Martha & Me’ a collection of photos that encapsulates girlhood and what it means to me. Its about Friendship and growing up, feeling seen and understood.

Where Have You Been?
Where have you been is a project inspired by my use of disposable cameras when I was younger, when the only way I could see my photos was after I’d got them developed at boots and received the physical 6×4 copies of my pictures. I used this as an opportunity to experiment and explore different types of film, cameras and places. The nature of these images is to document the places I’ve been with the added anticipation of not knowing exactly how it would look, because of my use of new (to me) cameras and film stocks, I feel that this mimicked the feelings of taking photos with a disposable camera as they only have two settings, flash on or flash off, because although I have more knowledge and control over the settings on a more traditional film camera the results would only be seen once I’d processed and printed my images. Which also added my own consciousness of exactly what I was taking a photo of and more mindful of what I used each exposure on.
I Chose to make postcards because postcard implies a holiday or taking a break which is what my little trips felt like, and when you’re buying a postcard you’re choosing something you want to remember, or the one thing that makes you think of someone else and want to show them. Its also a really accessible form of art collecting, because when you buy a postcard you’re basically buying a print, and I think that’s quite special because even people who claim to not be interested in art and photography, buy them and keep them or send them on.

53.4084° N, 2.9916° W is a zine of observational photography taken in Liverpool, using a medium format camera. Liverpool isn’t a place I know particularly well, but my brother recently moved there so I’ve been spending alot more time there, this project allowed me to get to know the city a little better and noticing more things in and around a busy city environment.
