Fine Art Photography School of Fine Art

Ella Gunning

Through a variety of themes, I am challenging the concept of identity, culture, and a place of home. Constantly questioning how can I create art about myself and my culture when I am currently so far away from it and all of it that inspires me. If I look at my photographs of my family, animals, and landscapes that I know so well, can it really transport me home? In turn, can I transport people back to their childhoods and homes through my work as well.

In the morning, we are going to go home.

My degree show is formed of photographs that were all made on my last trip home. I wanted to capture the fleeting moments spent with my family and the surroundings that raised me. Two of my main motivations to create meaningful photographs.
