Hyunjae Kang

My projects are based on hyper-realistic 3D creations, showcasing the dimensions of 3D through moving images. Though fundamentally unreal, my work aims to blur the boundaries between reality and unreality through highly detailed depictions, offering an immersive experience that provides viewers with new visual stimuli and provokes thought.

My projects reinterpret elements from the past in a modern way, recreating them in various forms. It also draws on personal emotions and perspectives.

To me, design is more than just arranging visual elements; it is a powerful tool for conveying ideas and emotions. Through my work, I hope to evoke a wide range of emotions in each individual. The design allows us to explore the depth and complexity of emotions, creating new interpretations and connections.

REVERIE

Is our life a simulation? How can I define reality and virtuality?

Surrealism values the fusion of unreality and reality to create a new reality, and it is a significant element in simulation. Despite being virtual, creating a space composed of hyperrealistic expressions contrasts reality and unreality, thus embodying surrealism. Through this created space, I aim to explore the ambiguous boundaries between reality and the virtual, prompting a fresh perspective on our world.

Takeover TV

A video promoting Hangul, Korea’s unique alphabet, using it as a design element.

MUTE

This project is entirely for myself, a work that reflects my visual emotions.

The Mute project aims to transform the information incoming from the outside to the inside through visual stimuli of everyday objects. Through this transformation, I hope to evoke different sensations in each individual.
