joshua elza breen-tucci (he/him, b.1991) is an intermedia artist, composer, and curator whose core art practice encompasses sound, kinetic machines, and relational aesthetics. his work challenges conventional views of art as static objects to be passively observed, instead inviting viewers to engage in dynamic, embodied, and co-creative experiences. at its core, josh’s practice is fuelled by a desire to perforate the nature of reality, drawing attention to phenomena and machinations which are invisible, obscured, or otherwise overlooked.

josh is from occupied Arapahoe, Cheyenne, and Ute territory and currently lives and works in glasgow, scotland. he holds an MFA from Glasgow School of Art and a combined BFA in art and music technology from CalArts. solo exhibitions include Construct/Reality/Constructs (2021, Lime Gallery, valencia california) and Swarm co-produced with Kai-Luen Liang (2019, Wave Cave, valencia california). group exhibitions include All in Bad Taste (2022, New Glasgow Society, glasgow scotland), affection artifacts (2021, Coaxial, los angeles california), Sound Pedro 2021 (2021, los angeles, california), afterbefore: images and voices from hong kong (2020, Hera Gallery, wakefield rhode island), and With Some Time on your Hands (2010, Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, denver colorado).
