LET THEM EAT CAKE

The “Let Them Eat Cake” series is a multimedia collection, aiming to make a mockery of those who live in excess and enjoy grandiose displays of wealth and privilege. The inspiration comes from 18th Century France and the whimsy and frivolity of the Rococo period, which has parallels to the 21st Century in the way that wealth and status is the main focus. The work features 3 paintings, 3 styled wigs and 1 fabric piece, which all work together to poke fun at these eras.
