Painting & Printmaking School of Fine Art

(He / They)
My paintings are windows to archaic worlds. Revealed to me in making, they are born through the repetitious application and removal of paint. This is a process which demands intimacy between myself and the object. Hesitation and deliberation reside in the fabric of my work; which sees completion in moments of clarity. The in-between states of awake and asleep are my chosen setting. I seek relief from modernity, and project a fantasy that predates technology, where spirits roam. Imagined spaces of calm, stories of wonder, voices of reason: symbols act as guides through rooms of shifting consciousness.
