Sarah Macphail

(She/her)

Sarah Louise MacPhail (b. 1991, Scotland) is a Printmaker based in West Lothian who explores our relationship with nature, how we coexist and how we impact the nature in our environments. Most recently, Sarah has been interested in how the wildlife in her hometown die, as she explores her landscape and discovers how these animals have died of unnatural causes and documents these findings through intaglio print methods, collecting and preserving. Sarah investigates the way visual narrative can portray the importance of conservation, by working in both large and small scale she plays with the impact of displaying the dead animals she has found. Her work acts as visual record, as these animals slowly disappear, unnoticed.
