SHADOWMATE – COMPANION PROJECTOR

ShadowMate is a system for students living in university
accommodation which helps to alleviate loneliness by creating a
‘living shadow’. The product features a tactile cover which users can
stroke to provide a pet-like relationship which works in conjunction
with an app to tailor experiences. Interchangeable covers give users
the opportunity to choose different materials and colour. ShadowMate
app allows users to customize shadow shapes, colors, behavior, adding
interactivity and a personalized experience. For example, when the
shadow simulates ‘making a meal’ in the kitchen, it makes cooking
sounds, enhancing the sense of companionship. Users can share their
experiences, uploading custom designs, such as animal shapes and
sounds, which can further facilitate interaction and support between
users.

BIOEXPLORER – WETLAND ECO PLATFORM

Bioexplorer is a platform for education and research designed
to assist in the restoration of wetland ecosystems. The platform
consists of five floating modules, which can work interdependently
or be connected together to create a larger platform. Dedicated
modules for observation, planting and experimentation have
been designed to satisfy the needs of this context. Each module
is equipped with a water filtration system at the bottom, which
reduces the pressure on wetland plants by purifying water, helping
to maintain optimum wetland ecology. The design provides a
platform to promote community and on-site learning whilst being
a hands-on research facility for wetland regeneration.
