Yolanda Ceballos works with a document that intersects between architecture, science, art, philosophy and occultism. It reflects on the cyclical and repetitive nature of existence and the exploration of the unconscious mind.

This document takes form as drawing sculpture and installation . She works with symbolism and materials that transform over time such as concrete, steel, water, memory and her own body. Her latest installations also involve elements such as light, sound and scent. During her processes she finds connections and meanings that arise from her different personalities and readings of her own work. These connections are later on used as signs of how her future time and space should look like. Her nomadic nature allows her to bring references from her present and the displacements in time and space allow her to further understand the subjectivity of memory.

She studied Architecture at the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey and currently is a candidate for a Master in Fine Arts at The Glasgow School of Art (2021 – 2023). She was granted the John Kinross Travelling Award by The Royal Scottish Academy (2022). Ceballos belongs to the National System of Creators (Sistema Nacional de Creadores) in sculpture since 2020. She was a grantee of FONCA Young Creators in sculpture, obtained the BBVA-Carrillo Gil fellowship and was a resident at Casa Wabi. Her last solo show was change of state at Pequod Co. in 2022. Her work has been part of group shows at Centro de las Artes (Monterrey), Museo Carrillo Gil (Mexico City), Assembly (New York) and Florence School (Glasgow). Her work belongs in the collections of Centro de las Artes (Monterrey) and Phillips/Yuyito (Mexico City)
