Robyn Abbott

Robyn Abbott is a Scottish photographer based in Glasgow.

The themes of her work explore time and memory within her family, working with archival images and videos, intertwining these with her own taken images exploring the theme of the past and making older work something new. Abbott focuses her work on location, specifically the Scottish Highlands narrowing this down to the small area of Glenuig, a location close to her and her family.

In recent projects, Abbott works closely photographing Glenuig and areas within the Scottish Highlands, she also works with digital manipulation of her archival work to overlay multiple images together. Abbott has been exploring installation in her newest project ‘Entirety’, being able to join the works of photography and installation together creating a living room. Abbott feels this is an important part of her artwork in next steps due to the crucial focus on location and being able to make viewers feel immersed in the artwork.
