Fine Art Photography

School of Fine Art / 24 students / Stow Building

The Fine Art Photography programme is unusual within photographic education as it offers an opportunity to study photography as a specialist medium specifically within the context of contemporary fine art practice. This studio-based programme places a strong emphasis on the making of work. Students experiment with leaning into, pushing against and transforming traditional photographic techniques, as well as experimenting with digital and computer-generated processes. The omnipresence of photographic images in our culture makes the programme a platform where fundamental questions about the nature of the photograph can be proposed and discussed.
