Mary Taylor
(she/her)
Mary Taylor is a photographer and installation based artist whose practice focuses on the foundations of light, exploring how it behaves, acts, and changes through sculptural and 3D forms.
Taylor’s work attempts to capture the intangible and turn it into a visual experience or encounter.
The Only Thing we see is Light, is the title of Taylor’s Degree show exhibition, that features works Circuit, refraction, and UV (2026)
circuit
Circuit is an installation work which requires an audience in order to function. The solar panel is on due to the dark environment which lures in the viewer, triggering the motion sensor and activating the main work. This surge of light then charges the solar panel, completing the circuit.

refraction
An installation work exploring the movement, manipulation, and transformation of light.
This work is part of the exhibition The Only Thing we see is light.
UV (2026)
