Sunny Yoon
(She, Her)
Hi! I’m Sunny. I am a Scottish born & bred South Korean multimedia designer specialising in graphics & part-time cellist.
The passions & influences that fuel my work include art & design, music & video games, as well as food & culture.
My work explores sound & interactivity as well as the interplay of colour, language & typography, fusing digital and analogue processes to discover new ways of layering and interpreting space, material & word.
For the future, I look forward to honing my practice, particularly in the realms of creative coding, animation, print & type design.
BUZZIN’
Medium: 106cmx150cm cotton satin pigment-printed flag
This is a self-initiated flag of my submission for Glasgow Commonwealth Games Poster Competition, entries for which will be exhibited during the games this summer.
I wanted to capture the vibrational energy of sport through a positive, universal Glaswegian sporting phrase, inspired by peers from Glasgow & Glasgow 2026’s trailer.
With my first international live sport event to watch booked, l printed this & another inclusive, neutral flag to wearfeeling right now at GSA.
To Sunny Yoon, ComDes ’26 & GSA From Amir Saidani
Medium: A3 200gsm cartridge paper Risograph
This was one side of my contribution to our class-made Pen Pals publication, a new project, made up of real-world insights from our paired-up GSA alumni.
As a way of saying goodbye to GSA as we ascend the ‘stairs’ into the world, I overlaid places where we resided for the past few years with my pen pal’s transitioning words of advice in his digital style.
Can you spot all 5 parts of GSA Reid Building layered in this print?

Inspired by visuals directed by Raul Gonzo for ‘ONE OK ROCK – Change Japanese Ver. [Official Music Video]’ (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ha6Fy_LeWtI), I found a non-vocal version called ‘ONE OK ROCK – Change [Instrumental]’ by Silens | Filtered Instrumental (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=in6Hfer9K3Q), to draw & record a focused live response with the tool.
The recording was edited for smooth looping & listening, with live audio mastered to a safer volume using Adobe Audition & synced up to match the experience in accuracy.
These 9 screenshots, taken from my YouTube-linked screen recording, demonstrate one of its uses to music.
2 accompanying gifs speedrun through my drawing process to test the tool’s audio-reactive uses to sound, with or without music, to get it ready for launch.
As a cellist & music lover, I coded this tool on Processing from p5.js with the help of Paul Maguire & Alistair McClymont.
