Familiar, but wrong
The tailored suit is commonly recognised as a symbol of formality, control, and precision. In traditional bespoke tailoring, every detail is designed to regulate the relationship between garment and body. My Project begins by questioning this logic. Through the ideas of familiar, but wrong and unexpected logic, I retain the refined craft and construction of tailoring, while disrupting its conventional meanings of formality and authority.
The suit is no longer bound to ideas of perfection or customisation, but becomes a medium for personal expression. Positioned between body and world, the garment exists in the space that separates the wearer from their surroundings. Rather than acting as a barrier, my designs aim to function as a bridge — creating a dialogue between the body, the environment, and the act of dressing itself.
