Choin
(she/her)
The work of Choin engages with a queer sensibility that is already damp or slowly seeping. It is not a clearly defined difference but rather a subtle sense of dissonance. She attends to minute bodily attunements that respond to atmosphere. These sensations form the weight of an air in which we are already immersed, unresolved, hard to dispel, existing less as distinct events than as states that settle into the body over time.
Like Anonymous Weather
The weather changes several times within a single day. Anonymous weather passes through. Weather is not easily perceived, yet it affects our moods like a low frequency. It would be difficult to call weather an event. But just because it is anonymous does not mean it is merely a background. It keeps us from getting out of bed, lets damp clothes chill against the skin, and weighs down our steps. Even when we cannot name it, it tilts our day.
