Interior Design School of Design
Lucia Coggins

The project I have been developing over the last year at GSA has been Bravo House at the BOAC – a boutique hotel focusing on the theme of entertainment, in the BOAC building, at 85 Buchanan Street, Glasgow.
The BOAC Building stands as a distinctive piece of architectural and cultural history, once home to the British Overseas Airways Corporation. Its sleek, modernist design and strong visual presence evoke a sense of timeless sophistication. Now, housing the fashion brand Mint Velvet, and located in a prime city setting, the building offers a rare blend of character, heritage, and potential, perfect for a fresh, contemporary purpose. With the building having great transport links nearby and its iconic architectural character, I decided that it would be perfect for a small boutique hotel and bar.
Alongside the interior design, I also focused on creating and applying a strong brand identity for Bravo House. Due to the nature of its luxury modern style, and the focus on a personalised special guest experience, it feels fitting to define the brand identity and details which will make the experience as a whole, feel special for Bravo House guests.

Bravo House at the BOAC
Project Overview
“Striking a chord between contemporary and timeless, from the velvet soaked bar to the BOAC’S storied copper facade.”
In a time of fast-paced living, rising costs, and a growing shift toward mindful lifestyles and sober curiosity, today’s guest seeks more than just a place to stay, they crave meaningful experiences.
Nestled in the heart of Glasgow, this luxury boutique hotel re-imagines the city break with a fresh, thematic approach, blending understated elegance, authentic connection, and rejuvenating comfort. Designed for those who value quality time together, the hotel features an entertainment-themed concept, with the focus on indulgence and enjoyment, to create a meaningful escape from reality.
With customer experience at the heart of its design, Bravo House was created to inspire creativity, spark connection, and ignite excitement. Guests are invited to personalise their stay by choosing from three distinct experiences – each offering a unique journey that blends immersive luxury with unforgettable moments.
