Join staff and students at our GSA Highlands & Islands campus for this year’s Summer Show — a day long showcase of the work taking place on the campus.

At the Summer Show, you’ll see exhibits exploring the intersections between research, innovation, education, and enterprise within rural contexts through Rural Lab. The in-person show will also feature work from postgraduate projects in the MDes Design Innovation programmes, developed in partnership with local stakeholders to generate innovative interventions for social benefit. The work of Future Skills, the GSA’s creative professional development programme will also be highlighted alongside the Digital Health & Care Innovation Centre (DHI), which focuses on innovation in digital health and care to help the people of Scotland live longer, healthier lives.

The Show takes place on our campus buildings on the Altyre Estate near Forres.

About the Campus

The Glasgow School of Art’s Highlands & Islands campus is situated on the Altyre Estate in Moray in the north-east of Scotland. The campus offers visitors, students and staff a unique opportunity to collaborate, study and work in one of the most spectacular parts of Scotland.

The campus is a centre for postgraduate study, research and innovation, and the estate’s heritage-listed buildings have been converted into state-of the art research, studio, workshop and exhibitions spaces. At the campus, the GSA’s studio-based learning environments are situated in a beautiful rural environment, rich with natural resources and opportunities to develop ethical, sustainable practices and approaches to disciplinary learning and research.

We apply the ‘Nexa model’ as a mode of working which integrates Research, Innovation, Enterprise and Education. Through this model, our work here explores the role that design, innovation and creativity can have as drivers for tangible economic, social and cultural transformation.
