(he/him)

I’ve had a passion for imagination since I was a kid. I often spend more time in my own world in my head than in the real one.

I’ve been drawing comics and stories all my life. Comics and drawing have always been my main form of expression. And I joined GSA with a strong devotion to comic books, graphic novels and pulp romance stories. I have made a comic each year at school. I gained more confidence in what I wanted to say with my art. By immersing myself in the works of Daniel Clowes and the Hernandez brothers, I ultimately came to OUTWITH. The first part of multiple comics which focuses on life as a Glaswegian, the daily beauty of a mundane sunrise and the magical elements of everyday life which prove to be stranger than fiction. With maybe the odd sci-fi story thrown in for fun.

My artwork prioritises fun over anything else. I like to draw in a bold and exaggerated way. Maintaining the childhood imagination I hold so dear.

OUTWITH: THE FEAR

This comic was a case of one idea constantly changing over the course of my final year at uni. Inspired originally by my love of my home town of Glasgow and the weird and wonderful characters there in. It began to change as time went on, and eventually became a love letter to my friends and comic books as a whole. Retelling and embellishing stories from my mates drunken escapades and my own fears and issues with being present in my own life.
