angelo karle

(he)

this body of work, in this instance titled ‘black box’, is installed variably based on the space and context. it’s comprised of a variety of laser, darkroom, riso, and screen-prints.

while mainly made up of photographs, the focus of black box is the (invisible & visible) affinities between the images and forms themselves. black box deals with ideas of unconscious knowledge, amputations, mutations, reproductions, and remainders & residues — but it can also be what you want it to be.

angelo is a photographer with a dislike for images. he is mainly based in glasgow but tends to be in other places. he is trans. he is also interested in text, noise, and community organising.. contact him if any of this resonates with you, through whichever avenue you wish.

Collaborative ink illustration and black and white photography book with Angelo Karle, on the theme of self injecting synthesized testosterone, queer masculinity and the transexual experience. Throughout the book there are transcripts from recorded conversations me and Angelo had on the topic.
