Thousands upon thousands of sunset

This project was inspired by my curiosity about what the world I perceive actually looks like. Perhaps because I am severely short-sighted, my memories of what I see are always blurred and consist of scattered patches of colour. I began by leafing through old photographs, attempting to recreate the less concrete world I see. I have explored this research through various techniques in both photography and painting. Using 3D modelling technology to transform photographs into three-dimensional images composed of colour blocks and scanning moving objects. Subsequently, I have converted these scanned images into two-dimensional and three-dimensional patterns through drawing. I have experimented with a range of fabrics, combining hand and machine embroidery methods resulting in a collection of textiles for multiple uses such as interior spaces and fashion. Through my textiles, I hope to raise awareness that everyone’s perception of the world differs, yet these differing perceptions can coexist and is something that can be acknowledged.
