DIY denim ‘yarn’

Portfolio Work

My collection is a celebration of inclusivity, individuality, and self-expression through the power of oversized clothing. Designed to create a sense of mystery around the body, the silhouettes encourage freedom from the constraints of traditional fit, allowing wearers to embrace their own shape without judgment. Each piece invites the wearer to choose how they interact with the garment―whether worn loosely draped or cinched to contour the form―offering space for personal interpretation and playful self-styling.

Crafted from a dynamic combination of denim and knit to replicate denim, the collection presents a visual and tactile collision of contrasting materials. This clash of textures serves as a metaphor for the rebellious, boundary-pushing energy rooted in street culture―a subculture that thrives on resistance, creativity, and self-made identity. By working with second-hand denim, surplus yarns, and repurposed materials, I embrace the raw, DIY ethos of the community, reinforcing the idea that fashion can be both expressive and resourceful.

This collection is designed for everyone―regardless of gender, size, or background. It champions full expressionism, inviting each wearer to style, interpret, and move within the garments in their own unique way. With fluid silhouettes and adjustable elements, the pieces are intentionally non-restrictive, allowing the wearer to feel empowered, seen, and entirely themselves. It is not just clothing―it’s a canvas for individuality.

Look 1

This look explores multifunctionality through dynamic, transformable design. The jumper features an adaptable length with four distinct ways to wear it—using hidden fastenings, foldable panels, or drawcords to alter the silhouette from cropped to elongated, allowing for expressive, seasonal, or mood-based styling. Paired with this is a pair of trousers that offer both length and width adjustments. Through integrated zips, buttons, or pleat systems, the trousers shift between tapered and wide-leg, short and full-length, offering flexibility and play. Together, the pieces celebrate customization and individuality, encouraging the wearer to interact with their clothing in creative and personal ways.

Look 2

This versatile outfit focuses on adaptability and playful construction. The T-shirt features a relaxed silhouette with subtle stitch detailing that echoes knitwear techniques, while maintaining a casual, everyday appeal. The trousers are designed with adjustable elements that allow the wearer to alter the length—transforming them from full-length to cropped or even shorts—using discreet fastenings or foldable panels. The design emphasizes functionality and personal customization, aligning with a genderless and modular approach to dressing.

Look 3

This outfit combines structure with fluid adaptability. The polo shirt features changeable-length sleeves and an adjustable midsection that can be gathered or lifted for a semi-cropped look—offering flexibility without fully exposing the torso. The back panel is designed to open completely, adding breathability and movement while inviting layering. Paired with this is a pair of knitted shorts crafted at a considered length that sits comfortably on a range of body types, making them wearable across genders and styles. Together, the look balances versatility and comfort, promoting an inclusive and interactive approach to dressing.
