Juicy is inspired by my fascination with fruit its colour, texture, and the way it feels so visually tempting. I was drawn to how fruit can look almost too perfect, with bright, saturated tones and unique forms that seem edible even before you taste them. The rich colours used throughout the pieces are inspired directly by the natural intensity of fruit, which often appears vibrant and full of life.
I wanted my collection to feel playful and inviting, encouraging people not just to look at them but to want to touch them. To support this, each peice includes moveable components, allowing the forms to shift slightly and adding a tactile, interactive quality. During the making process, I explored different materials and finishes before settling on a glossy surface, which enhances the sense that the pieces are almost “lickable,” while also creating a subtle artificial quality.
The clustered beads represent the seeds found within fruit, but in a more abstract, otherworldly way. Light bounces between the beads and the glossy surface enhancing there bright juicy appearance
By transforming these ideas into wearables, Juicy celebrates colour, curiosity, and the simple pleasure of engaging with something that looks good enough to eat.
Final collection
- The final collection celebrates colour, sensory experience, and playfulness, transforming everyday natural forms into bold contemporary jewellery that appears almost too perfect to be real.
Experimentation with materials and finishes led me to explore the contrast between natural inspiration and synthetic materials. While the forms reference seeds, flesh, and the structures found within fruit, the highly polished surfaces create an exaggerated, almost artificial appearance. This juxtaposition became a key part of the collection, blurring the boundary between the natural and the manufactured.
Movement and interaction were also important considerations throughout the design process. By incorporating movable elements and tactile forms, I aimed to create jewellery that invites touch and curiosity, encouraging a more engaging relationship between the wearer and the object.

Through developing the collection, I found an interesting contrast between the natural inspiration behind the pieces and the synthetic materials used to make them. While the forms, colours and textures are inspired by fruit, the glossy finishes and artificial materials give them a slightly unnatural feel. As I experimented with different materials and surfaces, I realised this contrast actually strengthened the concept, making the pieces look almost too perfect and enhancing their juicy, tempting appearance. This balance between natural forms and man-made materials became an important part of the final collection.
