Azure Reverie
This collection is inspired by personal travel memories and the architectural and cultural legacy of the Ephrussi de Rothschild Villa in the South of France. Created by Baroness Béatrice de Rothschild in the early twentieth century, the villa represents a rare female-authored vision within a historically male-dominated architectural and artistic context. For this project, the villa becomes a symbolic space that reflects a balance between romance and structure, emotion and order, femininity and strength.
The collection translates architectural elements, interior details, and garden landscapes into textile and garment design. Flowing wisteria forms inform fabric manipulation and volume; interior curtains inspire pleating and draping techniques; floral motifs are reinterpreted through print and surface texture; and architectural lines guide pattern construction and silhouette development. Together, these elements form a dialogue between softness and precision, echoing the spatial harmony of the villa.
Responding to principles of responsible design, this project emphasizes longevity, care, and emotional connection. Through thoughtful material use, textile manipulation, and an appreciation of craftsmanship, the garments are designed to be cherished rather than consumed quickly. By valuing process, repairability, and emotional durability, the collection positions fashion not only as an aesthetic practice, but as a cultural and responsible act rooted in memory, identity, and respect for resources.
