Future Skills offers professional development courses for the future workforce – online or based in Glasgow or at the GSA’s Highlands & Islands campus. The purpose of Future Skills is to bridge industry skill gaps with a crafted curriculum designed to meet the evolving needs of today’s workforce. We are committed to fostering creative professional growth through bespoke and innovative courses. At Future Skills, we embrace a design-led approach to professional development, emphasising innovation and forward-thinking strategies and are thoughtfully curated to address the unique needs of our partners.
GSA Future Skills collaborates with businesses and external partners to co-design bespoke content which directly addresses skill gaps and workplace challenges. In June 2024 we welcomed senior leaders from the Scottish Prison Service for a 2-day course exploring how creativity can be applied to complex problem solving and operational challenges.
Hosted in the breathtaking landscape of the GSA’s Highlands & Islands campus, our bespoke residentials invites mid and senior level leaders to explore the cutting edge of regenerative leadership and creative thinking in tailored contexts
The Scottish Prison Service hosted a showcase event on the 28th August 2024 to highlight how participants had implemented their learning across services and departments.
From HR and finance to operations and education, SPS staff have adopted creative methodologies and design innovation skills to help solve complex challenges and enhance services
“The design techniques explored generated real energy and positivity for the challenges the organisation is facing, with a multitude of ideas created that participants say have inspired them to think differently about how they approach work”
