Tabairnacle – Portable Church Environment

This project was inspired by churches who don’t own a building and therefore meet in various temporary venues. The purpose of the final product is to transform any space into a comfortable, welcoming and purposeful environment for worshipping Jesus together. The structure is formed of air-inflated beams, covered by lightweight fabric and illuminated by uplighters. It takes inspiration from both Church heritage and modern technology in its form, aesthetic and imagery. The system is designed to be portable, adaptable and quick to set up, considering the user experience for set-up volunteers as well as church members. As the Church is a moving, growing and changing community, this product is designed to move, grow and change with them.
