(he/him)

My practice is shaped by the quiet moments that drift around us in everyday life, recontextualising them through a process of layering and an interplay between the absurd and deeply familiar. Ideas often revolve around language, found objects, and raising the unlikely to the surface. By dissolving the line between familiarity and distortion, my work reimagines how we perceive the ordinary while carrying darker, emotionally charged undertones.

The use of text has started to resurface in my practice this year, a medium I always find myself returning to for its raw potential. I am drawn to the emotional weight a word or phrase can hold when assigned colour, size, material, a physical existence. By freezing language and placing it under a particular light, I find that words can become personified and reconsidered in ways unachievable through spoken word alone.

My recent photographic work explores absurd and nonsensical interference – taking various (often found) objects out of context to create unlikely marriages between subject and setting. Through techniques like sequencing and motion blur, i enjoy alluding to narratives while keeping an air of ambiguity in the subject or location. Often drawing from personal experience, metaphors unfold across my practice through everyday objects, materials and printing methods.
