(She/Her)

“Place” explores the interplay between The Landscapes of urban Glasgow and rural North Yorkshire, highlighting their contrasts and hidden connections. My research includes primary studies— photographs, drawings, paintings, collages and colour palettes inspired by these landscapes—and secondary sources on urban spaces, city structures, and rural forms. Experimentation with charcoal, fine line pens, watercolours, and gouache has allowed me to capture the raw, structured essence of the city and the organic softness of the countryside. The outcome is a collection of printed textiles – compositions, textures and patterns, designed for interiors, for upholstery and soft furnishings, with potential fashion applications. I have selected natural materials such as cotton, wool and linen to strengthen the connection between material and theme. Sustainability is central to my approach, focusing on repurposing materials, minimising waste, and embracing responsible design choices. This project is an evolving exploration of identity, memory, and place, achieved through a thoughtful, experimental design process.
