Oliver Glasse

Oliver Glasse is an artist who works primarily in performance, utilising character and story as a shield to be able to present sensitive and sincere convictions with a protective degree of separation from their source. Characters often take the form of practitioners or enthusiasts in other media, (architecture, theatre, painting) and allow for the artist to explore a vast range of methods of production from within a cohesive practice. Drawing and writing are integral in the development of these works, within the fiction being either of or by the performed character, and without serving as lasting documentation of a fleeting act. More recently he has been exploring landscape painting for its own sake, aiming to create emotionally stimulating images without the conscious assemblage of symbols.
