My creative roots have always been in sound, producing and DJing under the alias Kami-O. Coming to the Glasgow School of Art was a deliberate push to step outside that purely sonic box and expand my wider artistic skillset. During my studies, I discovered a love for photography and physical collage, tactile, hands-on mediums that gave me a visual language to match my audio work. My practice is also influenced by my ongoing work as a youth worker. That daily, on-the-ground experience directly drives the subjects I tackle and the direction my art takes. Moving forward, my focus is on continuing to blur the lines between these disciplines and sides of myself, blending the layered energy of electronic music with my visual identity to build a unified multidisciplinary practice.
Gated
Gated is a stop-motion film and experimental soundscape that investigates the systemic and psychological class barriers that lock working-class creatives out of the industry. Drawing from my own lived experience and youth work in Glasgow, the project explores the friction of navigating a sector that often filters out these individuals.
Through chaotic, handmade collages of shuttered Maryhill shops and an unpredictable, noise-gated score, the film acts as a sonic and visual metaphor for class-based exclusion. It challenges the viewer to recognize how working-class identity is structurally silenced as “unwanted noise” within elite spaces.

One for Sorrow
One for Sorrow is a foundational short film from my time at GSA, inspired by the traditional magpie superstition rhyme. Structured across seven distinct sections, each reflecting a line of the rhyme, the piece culminates in a final, conclusive segment featuring a spoken-word poem by Scottish hip-hop artist and writer crpntr. This project marked a breakthrough in my creative practice, by experimenting with manipulating still photographs to create moving video, I discovered my wider artistic potential and laid the groundwork for the visual language I use today.
