As a multidisciplinary artist, I am exploring synthetics and botanic, looking into the dialogue between the manufactured and natural through layering and material processes. My practice is experimental and studio based where my materials often form the work itself. Inspired by artificiality and labour, the hand crafted nature of each flower portrays the individuality of making and process. I explore how everyday, accessible materials can mimic or distort nature and challenge our perception of what is real. I want the viewer to feel both familiarity and displacement as they admire the beauty but feel the unease.
