Sarah Mccaffrey

(She/Her)

Sarah McCaffrey is an Irish-born designer who is passionate about sustainable, inclusive, and people-centred designs.

For her final-year design project, she created a domestic violence shelter located in Maryhill, Glasgow. This type of project was chosen in response to the alarming fact that 1 in 4 women will experience domestic or intimate partner violence in their lifetime. The refuge serves as a place of safety and support, allowing women to regain their confidence and independence.

In addition, Sarah wrote a dissertation titled “Redesigning Democracy: Creating Inclusive Spaces for a Modern Government.” This research paper focuses on making government buildings more inclusive for women and emphasises why this is essential for the future of democracy.
