The theme of my graduate collection is based on day trips around Scotland. Working from two juxtaposing sets of research I have combined elements from graphic, geometric and structural images of train station architecture with soft, serene colour gradients from natural settings and sunsets I encountered on those day trips to produce an interior accessories collection of large tactile wall hangings.

I have explored double cloth blocks, weft backed and twill structures in both dobby loom and jacquard samples to translate the graphic components of my research with gradient warps and wefts adding in warm colour tones and gentle transitions. I have worked with contrasting qualities in my yarn choices, using shiny options such as rayon and mercerised cotton next to wool and cashmere and bringing in texture with honeycomb and rib structures and more textural feather yarns and cotton tops.
