Game Activity ‘Octotack’

The game-based training ‘Octotack’ a high-energy, mentally engaging game designed to challenge the mind and body outside the typical court setting. Inspired by the octopus known for its intelligence, multitasking, and adaptability.  ‘Octotack’ is a dynamic training game that sharpens mental agility through fast-paced role play. It’s more than physical; it builds awareness, decision-making, and resilience through strategic gameplay. A gateway to building a stronger mindset for sport.

In ‘Octotack’, the attacking team aims to throw a barrel and either hit or stick it onto the defenders’ rackets to score points. The defenders must prevent this from happening. Attackers move the barrel around to create openings, while the defenders protect the central rackets using their assigned roles.

Able to make rapid-fire decisions within seconds.  Performing under pressure (match point, tight games) is crucial for winning.

Condition Match Simulation

A high-pressure match simulation designed to help you apply the mental skills developed in the game activity directly to your sport. This practice mimics real game challenges by adding specific rules, constraints, or scenarios pushing you to adapt, stay composed, and problem-solve under pressure.

By replicating moments that often trigger performance anxiety like unexpected situations or feeling limited in your options this exercise builds your confidence and mental flexibility. Many young athletes struggle with internal doubts such as “I can’t do it” or get thrown off by unexpected challenges. This simulation prepares you for those moments, helping you develop trust in your ability to respond, adjust, and preform.

Include 4 game mode:

Limited Rally  – When the coach calls out a number, players must complete the rally and try to score within that number of shots, with a maximum allowance of two extra shots. This trains urgency and smart decision-making under pressure.

Zone Restriction – Using cones or mats, a target zone is marked on the court. Points are only awarded when the shuttle lands within this designated area sharpening precision and spatial awareness.

Targeted Role – A multiplayer setup with up to four players per side. Each player is assigned a specific role or area of responsibility (e.g., smashing, drop shots, drives), helping refine specialised skills and coordination under team dynamics.

Surprise Challenges – A regular rally with an added twist: the coach calls out random commands mid-rally (e.g., change hand, no smashes, etc.). Players must fulfil the task; otherwise, even a winning shot won’t count. This builds adaptability and sharpens focus during unpredictable moments.
