‘The City Through a Queer Lens’ – Glasgow Film Institute
Final Project
This project aimed to combine research into queer spatiality and film; to realise spatially how architecture, and our relationship with it, is informed by queer understandings; how we read the city, how we navigate the city and ultimately how we claim and construct queerness within it.
My civic building sought to naturally integrate this queer spatiality within the city; promoting public accessibility and interpersonal connections as spatial design principles.
Answering a lack of accessible public space in Glasgow City centre and providing an architectural expression facilitating the storytelling and interpersonal connections created by film.
