What does safety mean to you?
This quilt was created as part of my extending design project — a response to my research essay exploring quilt-making as a framework for different forms of expression for women throughout history.
Each patch was made in response to text collected from women answering the question: “What does safety feel like to you?”
Rooted in traditions of care, resilience, and community, the quilt brings together individual voices into a collective honoring both the personal and the political power of women’s craft.
