Personal statement
I understand environmental design to be both the art and science of enhancing a space to achieve a healthier and aesthetically pleasing environment. environmental design, whether bad or good, can affect one’s emotions.
To me, environmental design is a communication medium such that when someone enters the space, they feel what the environmental designer was trying to convey. They can feel the difference in their mind: grand or delicate, open or introverted, solemn or warm, busy or quiet, all of which can be felt when one enters a space. I believe it is the environmental designer’s role to achieve functional requirements in a limited space while also accurately conveying a variety of different emotions.
I am excited about the interior design profession as it continues to grow and strives to address environmentally friendly designs as well as physical accessibility designs. I hope to use my creativity and innovative abilities to convey the essence of a space, enhancing the sense of connection between people and their surroundings, and increasing happiness in everyday life. In my future studies, I will strive to further develop my innovative skills, as this is not only the core responsibility of a designer but also the true value they bring to the world.

Statement
The project is located at 35 Church Street. The building was originally a school swimming pool, and it has now been redesigned as a multifunctional concert hall. In addition to the main stage and audience seating, the space incorporates social areas and practice rooms. It also features a flexible rehearsal room, which can be integrated into the performance space and used as part of the stage when needed.
