Fashion Design School of Design
Yuxuan Lin

I graduated from the Fashion Design program at Glasgow School of Art. My design practice is dedicated to exploring the integration of traditional Eastern and Western clothing with contemporary fashion. Through in-depth study of traditional culture and a keen sense of modern aesthetics, I strive to strike a balance between functionality and cultural narrative.
During my creative process, I focus on the experimentation of details and materials, and have a strong interest in deconstructionism and unique silhouettes. These elements give the clothing visual and structural tension. I believe that clothing is not merely a medium for wearing, but a powerful carrier of culture, function and emotional expression. My design concept is rooted in reinterpreting traditional clothing from a contemporary perspective, giving it a new lease of life in the modern context.
During my academic journey, I would spend every summer doing internships at fashion companies, assisting the design team in completing various stages from concept development, material procurement to garment production. These experiences not only enhanced my technical and creative abilities, but also deepened my understanding of industry practices. I am proficient in various research methods and garment production techniques, and can efficiently transform creative ideas into finished products.
Looking to the future, I hope to continue exploring in the field of fashion, seeking new possibilities at the intersection of traditional culture and modern design. I am eager to respond to the rapidly changing demands of contemporary society through responsible and culturally-aware design language.
