Zhaoxuan Ji

My practice is centred on the individual human being, using my background, experiences and feelings to discuss everyday issues, phenomena and events.
I focus on physical or mental extension and connection, subtle details of life, and the transformation and fusion between hard and soft materials. I keep looking for the connections between concepts and reality, develop their associated details, and create visual languages in materials and forms to illustrate hypotheses or ideas.
Most of my works are inspired by daily life, capturing life details or interpreting personal past experiences. I focus on recording or presenting the rituals of daily life, searching for and capturing the undefined cause-and-effect relationship between human psychology and behaviour, and discussing how concrete things in life affect human perceptibility.
