The following project is a response to a brief asking us to visually interpret the middleground. A visual art form which can be interpreted as a middleground in itself, which lies between art, design and writing is film. But middlegrounds can also be found within film between characters. The films chosen represent different scenarios in which characters are faced with a choice, a compromise, a form of being met with a middleground. With faces removed so that the focus is on the situation and not the actors. The book is separated into 3 acts much like in films scripts, written as beginning middle and end. The book itself becoming a new film script using existing films.
